The below table describes the acceptable general appearance of any parts ordered through the Fractory platform with the aim of clarifying requirements around finish quality to all parties.
Important Notes Regarding Finish Classes for Sheet Metal Parts:
For Sheet Metal parts the class B Finish would be a standard finish requirement unless otherwise specified and should apply to both sides of the part. However, each side may look different if it has been through a deburring machine see Deburring page for examples. For pre-polished sheet metal parts we would expect a class B+ Finish as standard on the polished side and class B Finish on the non polished side.
Please note, that in order to achieve a class A finish for sheet metal parts a surface finish or polishing process may be required following all manufacturing processes. However it is achieved, it is important that the characteristics for the A-Class finish are met, and if they are not met, it is the manufacturers responsibility to rectify it.
For a class A finish we will specify if it is 1 side or both sides that are required for sheet metal parts.

Please see below images showing requirements of a Class B finish based on the above table. Unless otherwise specified, any of these surface finishes are acceptable, however we would expect all parts from the same order to have a consistant finish across all parts within that order:
